This mentorship programme aims to support young women and girls through a series of employability, self-development, transferable life-skills and mentorship workshops. Partnering the young people with a mentor supports them in working toward key life goals, accessing higher education, finding employment and developing a relationship with an inspirational role model figure.
TARGET GROUP: Young black women and girls ages 16-25
PROGRAMME STRUCTURE: Coach mentors deliver a series of skills development workshops with the support of external professionals. These skills include but are not limited to sewing, hair-braiding and self-defence. Following this self-development phase, young people are then asked to share their aims and objectives for the future. Our coach mentors then work closely with a series of external mentors to pair the young people with a professional that can actively support their goals and ambitions.
