The Change Foundation’s annual Fun on the Field festival returned this July, transforming the Cricket Centre into a vibrant celebration of inclusion, community and the power of sport.
Delivered in partnership with the Fantastic Freddie Foundation (https://thefantasticfreddiefoundation.com/) and Keen 2 Go (https://www.keen2go.org/), the event welcomed people with disabilities from across the London Borough of Sutton and neighbouring communities for an unforgettable day packed with activities, entertainment and friendship.
More than just a sports festival, Fun on the Field offered something for everyone. Participants enjoyed a wide range of inclusive sports, games and activities alongside music, dancing, delicious food and opportunities to meet new people in a welcoming and supportive environment. The festival continues to grow each year, creating a space where everyone feels valued, included and able to take part.
A particular highlight was the fantastic live performances from Sing Out Sutton (https://singoutsutton.co.uk/) and two of our Street Elite graduates, whose incredible energy and uplifting music had participants, volunteers and families singing and dancing throughout the day.
Events like Fun on the Field demonstrate the importance of creating inclusive spaces where people of all abilities can enjoy sport, build friendships and celebrate their achievements together. The energy across the festival was a reminder that inclusion isn’t just about access, it’s about belonging.
The Change Foundation would like to thank every participant, volunteer, partner and supporter who helped make this year’s event such a success. With attendance continuing to grow year after year, plans are already underway to make next year’s Fun on the Field the biggest and best yet.
