This week, 17 young people from our London Futures programme celebrated their graduation in central London. After 12-months of hard work, self-development and employability training, each young person has transformed themselves and their future career prospects.
Alison is one of the graduates and boldly presented a speech as part of the ceremony; something she wouldn’t have felt confident to do 12-months ago.
She shared: “When I first joined this programme, I was really scared to walk into the world, but the coaches made me feel like I am part of a big family, so i’m much happier and stronger.”
After initially meeting for delicious pizza’s and refreshments in a local restaurant, the graduates headed to TDR Capital’s offices, fuelled and buzzing with excitement for the ceremony.
Nigel Smith is Head of TDR’s ESG & Sustainability. He kindly joined everyone for pizzas’ beforehand and handed out the awards and certificates with our CEO Andy Sellins.
Taking time to socialise with each graduate, Nigel reminded everyone of TDR’s dedicated interest in the independent journey of every programme participant. We are incredibly grateful to have TDR as dedicated partners and funders of the London Futures programme, and their support has transformed the progress of every participant that the programme supports.
The calm and positive energy of the TDR venue allowed the ceremony to be filled with laughter and beaming smiles from start to finish.
Emily is an Employment Support Officer on the programme. She shared: “I had the best evening and at times felt overwhelmed with happiness and pride having seen how far everyone has come over the past 12-months.”
We would like to thank Nigel, Kay, everyone at TDR and all of of London Futures team for contributing to the past 12-months of success. Congratulations to the London Futures class of 2022!
*We are recruiting for the next cohort of London Futures so if you know any young people aged 18-30 with a disability please put them in touch with Ryan Jones – ryanjones@changefdn.org.uk.*
