Work Placement Success for Zoe!

Last month, Berkeley Homes welcomed a talented young woman named Zoe from our London Futures programme on a week-long work experience placement.

Zoe joined our London futures programme in 2022 and has been using skills learnt on the programme to find long term employment.

During her placement, Zoe worked in various departments including communications, customer service and reception. She also had the opportunity to visit some of Berkeley’s show home sites. This was very exciting and allowed Zoe to wear the safety equipment and get the full experience.

Talking about her placement, Zoe shared: “Berkeley Homes is a very interesting company, and everyone was so lovely.”

She added: “I loved it so much I did not want the week to end.”

Jenny Stabeler, Zoe’s Mum shared: “Zoe loved her work placement with Berkeley Homes and came home every day buzzing with excitement.’

“The placement has given her confidence a great boost and it has made such a difference as the team at Berkeley are so understanding and accepting. I am grateful to Sophie and her team at Berkeley for making this a huge success for her.”

Sophie Harrison, Head of Communications at Berkeley who organised the work placement shared: “The work placement went really well and I know Zoe really enjoyed her placement with us.’

“Zoe’s attitude has been delightful – always punctual and plenty of enthusiasm about her day. A colleague and I are going to watch a play that Zoe will be in in December.”

The Change Foundation have been programme partners with The Berkeley Foundation, the charity of housebuilder, The Berkeley Group, for 10-years, through our Street Elite programme. The development of our relationship has allowed numerous young people from The Change Foundation to secure long-term employment opportunities with the Berkeley family.

We are hugely grateful to Berkeley for hosting this work placement and hope to have future work placements for young people on our London Futures programme going forward.
