G-Storm Hit The Red Carpet For Movie Premiere

This month a group of young women from our G-Storm programme attended the Cineworld Buzz Lightyear Premiere in central London. The premiere was attended by celebrities such as Chris Evans (Captain America) & Keke Palmer.

The opportunity was provided by Charlotte Tudor who works for Disney and she made sure to provide the best seats in the house for the screening.

Grace is our charity’s Special Projects Administrator. She attended the event with the young women and shared: “To the naked eye it seemed that the event was like any other cinema trip just with a few celebrities in attendance , but it was much more than that.”

The highlight of the event was really the message that was conveyed within the movie. The young people learnt about commitment and the power of a vision as they watched Buzz Lightyear living in relentless pursuit of a goal he set his life towards.

Grace added: “We saw how pursuit of Buzz’s personal goal made him blind to everything and everyone else in his life, but eventually we saw him realise that his achievement was less valuable than his relationships.”

On the G-Storm programme our Coach Mentors frequently initiate conversations around failures and life lessons such as how a determination to win at something can affect your appreciation for what you already have. Much to everyone’s surprise the film screening triggered both tears and laughter, but overall everyone had an amazing time in Leicester Square that night.

Theresa was one of the young women who attended the screening. She shared: “It was an amazing and unforgettable experience! I didn’t really know what to expect before watching as I wasn’t too familiar with Toy Story but it exceeded my expectations!”

Kadiatu was another G-Storm graduate in attendance. She shared: “It was nice for me because I have never been to those kind of places and never been in the cinema so it was a blessing for me to attend to those kind of places. The film was so good and I loved everything about it.”

Thank you once again to Charlotte Tudor from Disney for helping to make this experience happen!
