FIGHTING FOR ACTIONSTEP’S ‘BATTLE OF THE LEGAL BRAINS’ CROWN

Last week our charity hosted the Actionstep ‘Battle of the Legal Brains’ quiz night in Mayfair, London. The inaugural event welcomed over 90 of London’s sharpest minds to go head to head for the winners trophy.

We were honoured to welcome tables of representatives from each of our generous event sponsors; Actionstep , Verlata Consulting, Clarion Law and Netdocuments.

Another table taking on the quiz, were guests of our Chair of Ambassadors and event organiser Will Taborn. Will shared: “It is rare the words ‘legal’ and ‘fun’ are put together….well….actually you don’t ever put them together, so this event was a real perceptive change.” He added: “The first point I noticed was that from the off we didn’t have just law firms in the room. There were so many businesses around the world of law which showed how far the profession has come since the early days of adopting technology. The second point was that the quiz, very ably presented by Alex (Bassan), created talking points and allowed people to focus on that and relax. There are definitely the seeds of a bigger event in the future here….it’s a no-brainer!”

Over the six rounds of challenging, fascinating and entertaining questions guests enjoyed a delicious three course dinner whilst also watching our charity film to remind the room of the important cause this fundraising event was supporting.

Like any of our charity events, the evening would not have been possible without the incredible behind the scenes TCF team and volunteers. TCF Ambassador Sophie Harrison is Head of Communications at Berkeley Foundation. She was joined by five incredible Berkeley Work Placement volunteers who had the critical role of grading the answers of each round.

Sophie shared: “It was a fantastic evening with some very challenging questions. Who knew that there were more rail stations than tube stations in London! The Berkeley volunteers loved finding out more about the amazing work of The Change Foundation and chatting with the guests who donated generously.”

A huge congratulations to the Advocate team for taking home the crown this year! We also want to thank everyone that sponsored, took part, donated and organised the event. Your support has allowed our charity to supported more young people through our programmes.
