Did you know that Alex Bassan our Director of Business Development has been an employee of our charity for 15 years and been a wider charity member for 17 years?
Having first joined our Inner-City World Cup programme in 2006, Alex known by many as “Bassie” later went on to complete the apprenticeship programme in 2007. 🏆
Since then, he has continued to inspire our team, the people he coaches and the incredible partner network that he has developed with us.
In 2015 Bassie developed our VI Rugby programme launching it successfully in 2016. It has since engaged with communities in 10 countries supporting players living with vision impairment. This October we will launch the first ever VI Rugby World Tournament in France including teams from England, Ireland and France. 🏉
Following his inspiring work establishing VI Rugby, Bassie has recently been selected as a member of the Mastercard Future XV. Each of the 15 individuals selected for the opportunity is actively changing lives through the power of rugby and inspiring the next generation of rugby players and fans.
We are immensely proud to see Bassie receive recognition for his incredible work and look forward to watching the Mastercard XV continue to inspire the next generation of rugby players. 🙌
