The Change Foundation has a rich and long history of supporting and empowering other organisations, charities, and governing bodies to design, develop and deliver their own impactful sport for social change programmes. Central to The Change Foundation’s core beliefs is our ‘innovate and share’ culture and over the last 40 years we have proudly supported, and capacity built 400 organisations as well as trained over 4,400 Coach Mentors worldwide.
We have been fortunate enough to have worked with so many powerful organisations around the world which has enriched our understanding, adaptability, and knowledge, ensuring that we continue to create cutting-edge sport for social change programmes.
Over the last month, The TCF team have been delivering a range of training workshops across the sector, which have focused on sharing our adaptions and learnings during COVID-19 as well as our approach to sport for social change coaching.
For the last 3 years, TCF has been a proud part of the team that delivers the Turkish Airlines Euroleague annual ‘One Team’ training workshop. ‘One Team’ is the Euroleague Basketball’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme that uses basketball to achieve social impact within their communities. On the 1st February, we delivered a workshop which was attended by representatives of all clubs from across Europe, sharing our knowledge and learnings as well as helping clubs to find solutions to the challenges they’re experiencing due to the impact of COVID-19.
On the 15th February, we also delivered a week of training workshops for London Youth’s ‘Active Talent’ programme which focuses on developing 15 community youth organisations and engaging with 150 at-risk young people with leadership potential from across the capital. During the workshops, the young leaders received training in the art of sport for social change coaching, developing their leadership potential as well as a session on how to adapt and innovate their programmes online during the pandemic.
Currently, The Change Foundation is actively working with a range of governing bodies to develop new and innovative sport for social change programmes and strategies, these include; the Lawn Tennis Association, England Handball, British Shooting, British Fencing and the NFL. In addition to this, we are working with corporates and brands to create exciting CSR programmes and campaigns which change the lives of marginalised young people through the power of sport. We look forward to sharing the development of these in the months to come.
