We are proud to share that our first Champion of Change for 2024 is Kiran Matharu.
Kiran is the Community Tennis Manager at the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA). She has been nominated because of her instrumental work in the collaborative tennis for good projects between The Change Foundation and the LTA.
These projects have included the design and delivery of the SERVES social impact training, the production of the Game Set Empower Toolkit focussing on self-confidence, health and communities together and most recently the development of how tennis can reduce crime, violence and anti-social behaviour.
Kiran and our Director of Design and Impact Navjeet Sira have been collaborating since 2016. Nav shared: “I met Kiran in 2016 at the beginning of a transformational journey aiming to take tennis into the depth and the soul of our communities. Eight years later, I feel privileged to say we took action, we progressed, we never stopped challenging the status quo and we continue to do so. But transformative change takes a champion. Kiran embodies this by listening, helping and reflecting. I’m proud to be her colleague and friend.”
Kiran talks about tennis differently and is a true champion for change in the world of tennis.
