TCF in Barcelona with Euroleague Basketball

For the third year running we were delighted to be invited by Euroleague Backetball to play a signature role in the delivery of the One Team workshop that kicks off the Euroleague every year. This year taking place in Barcelona, Spain, we were the only external provider involved in the practical side of the workshop and provided coaching on community training as well as personal development for the coaches present.

Based on their learning from our workshops last year, the coaches from Olimpia Milano and Asseco Arka Gdynia were able to show some of the games that they have developed to use basketball for social change. It was wonderful to see how our work has helped them create great games and change lives in their communities.

Across the two days, representatives from the 42 clubs in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and 7DAYS EuroCup exchanged ideas on how to support local communities at the ninth One Team Annual Workshop, representing 17 different countries. While TCF provided lots of practical support for the coaches, we were joined by a whole host of other inspiring organisations for Muslim Girls FenceChance to Shine,  ThinkBeyond, and Everton Football Club.

Roser Queralto, Euroleague Basketball Chief Business Development Officer, said: “The workshop was a very valuable exercise and will help our clubs make One Team even better in the future. One Team is a fantastic program which brings all 42 of our clubs together with the common aim of supporting local communities, and these two days were a great way to start preparing for next season’s activities.”

Every year the workshop is a fantastic showcase of the power of sport to drive social change, our core motivation, and we are privileged to be involved in helping the expansion of such a wonderful initiative. We look forward to the continued development of the clubs involved and to being a part of the event for many years to come. Have a look here for a video of the event.
