ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup visits The Cricket Centre

Monday 22nd May was a very special day for the young people involved in the Refugee Cricket Project (RCP) when the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup trophy paid them a visit as part of the CWC Trophy Tour, sponsored by Nissan.

A large number of the young refugees at the project are originally from Afghanistan and with the Afghan national team taking part in the World Cup for the first time, this is a very exciting time for the RCP participants. We are really thankful to our partners The Refugee Council, for arranging this through the England and Wales Cricket Board.

The World Cup takes place in England and Wales from 30th May with the Final at Lord’s on Sunday 14th July and we wish all ten teams the best of luck.  Have a look at this video shot on the day that the trophy paid us a visit.
