Assessors in our ranks
This month we have taken another step forward in our mission to create opportunities for young people to make positive change. 5 of our coach mentors are now qualified assessors for Community Sports Leadership qualifications at either level 1 or 2, and will be teaching, assessing, and qualifying our young people across our programmes both home and abroad in 2019 and beyond. The training was delivered by Sports Leaders UK at HMP Belmarsh.
Community Sports Leadership qualifications are designed to use sport and physical activity to help young people develop and hone their leadership skills whilst helping themselves and others stay physically active, meaning that they are a perfect fit for the work of TCF. One of these qualifications is not only a great stepping stone to a coaching qualification in any sport, but is also a way to learn important life skills such as effective communication and organisation. The courses involve both guided & peer-to-peer learning and supervised leadership to ensure that learners have a wide variety of skills and can also be used in personal statements for university applications.
We have been providing these kind of tools and skills to our young people for many years, and it is great that they will now have an accredited qualification to take with them into their future. Onwards and upwards for 2019!
