A Sporting Chance leads to the London Marathon

The Change Foundation is extremely grateful to Graham Evans who will be running the London Marathon on 26th April 2015 to help raise funds for our work.

This is Graham’s story and why he is raising funds for us:

This fantastic charity enables young disadvantaged children opportunities to channel negative experiences into positive outcomes. The activities encourage teamwork, positive role modelling and offer opportunities to create lifelong friendships.

My interest in the charity began 4 years ago. My son Tom, who is visually impaired has been unable to partake in sport at his mainstream school, denying him an opportunity to experience and develop so many of the positive skills associated with sport such as: teambuilding, independence, commitment and confidence. Tom was introduced to this charity, which offers access to sport and activities for blind and visually impaired children. Since then he has developed skills which have improved his confidence and independence. In adition to this he has forged friendships and now plays cricket for his county.

I have chosen to run the London marathon to show my appreciation for this incredible charity. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
